As a special preview of the LA Baby Show, coming up on the weekend of November 5-6, we have interviewed or profiled many of the Show’s vendors and participants. You can read all about them on this Show blog, but of course the real fun is experiencing the Baby Show in person.
Tickets to the Baby Show are $30 per family, and $20 per individual, and can be purchased here.
We are excited to introduce Camelot Little Knights as a programming and parenting partner for the LA Baby Show! They are a leading family resource center in Los Angeles.
One of the great parts about having a child is joining a community of parents that are going through the same ups and downs that you are. At Camelot Little Knights, you will get to know your fellow parents, at a fantastic facility with classes that help your child grow and bring your family together.
We spoke with Director Renae Plant to learn more!
For someone unfamiliar with Camelot Little Knights, how would you describe the company’s mission and core offerings?
Little Knights is a one-stop-shop and resource center just “West of the East Side” for new and seasoned parents who strive to ease the transition to new parenthood with enriching classes, guidance, and shared experiences!
Weekly “Parent & Me” groups provide a supportive community for parents to learn about child development and parenting topics, exchange knowledge, guidance, classes, breast feeding resources & super cool products while bonding with your baby and community. We offer a plethora of classes including pregnancy and child birth preparation, baby care, breastfeeding classes, mom fitness & health, musical play groups, popular lectures from leaders in their field, “Parents Day Out”, “Disco Knights” and birthday parties.
What is the background of Camelot Little Knights? When did it start, and how has it evolved since then?
Camelot Kids Child Development Center was founded in 1997 in a tiny teachers lounge at Ivanhoe Elementary. In 2007, it moved to its new campus which was the location for the historical “Recycler Paper,” run by me and my husband Livinio Stuyck. It has grown since then by providing high quality childcare to over 150 families daily. We offer a transitional Kinder program and preschool classes from ages two to five. We recently expanded to add another building specifically for our parent and me program that has been running since 2008. This allows us to expand our services to provide fitness classes daily to parents, parent & me classes, workshops, birthday parties and a [bump] boutique retail store with awesome baby and parent products.
What are the most popular and/or newest services or classes from Camelot Little Knights?
Our Fitness Fun classes are the newest and coolest addition to Camelot Little Knights. Parents can have a SERIOUS workout any morning of the week at Little Knights while your child is nearby with our licensed childcare staff member. We have Aerialfit Baby, Bootycamp Baby, Bootybarre Baby, Boxing Baby and Zumba Baby classes to get parents back into shape after giving birth.
Additionally, we have Parent’s Day and Disco Knights to further enhance the community vibe we are cultivating “Just West of the Eastside.” Take part in a special day of self-care and come hang out with other families on Friday’s for Disco Knights! What’s not to love?
What sets Camelot Little Knights apart from other parenting and family centers?
As an extension of Camelot Kids, Little Knight’s endeavors to create a space for families to gather in community. A place where parents can come together, gain new skills, new friendships and be supported as they tend to their little ones. Little Knights is an all-inclusive Parent + Me Center Just West of the Eastside.
