As a special preview of the LA Baby Show, coming up on the weekend of November 5-6, we have interviewed or profiled many of the Show’s vendors and participants. You can read all about them on this Show blog, but of course the real fun is experiencing the Baby Show in person.

Tickets to the Baby Show are $30 per family, and $20 per individual, and can be purchased here.

The stroller business is ever-evolving, with new innovations coming all the time. To be a successful stroller company, one has to stay ahead of the curve. Stokke, a Norwegian company that is nearly 90 years old, stays on the cutting edge and sets the standard in the stroller industry.

To learn more about Stokke, we spoke with members of their team.

For someone unfamiliar with Stokke, how would you describe the company’s mission and core offerings?

Stokke is an innovative Norwegian company offering a complete collection of premium products for children that reflect Scandinavian design at its best. Stokke products promote bonding between parent and child, and ensure healthy development for young children. For over eighty years, Stokke has combined their love for design with the latest technology to make beautiful, thoughtfully designed products that not only grow with your family but bring you and your baby closer.

What is the background of Stokke? When did it start, and how has it evolved since then?

Founded in Ålesund, Norway in 1932, Stokke began as a manufacturer of high quality furniture. The iconic Tripp Trapp chair was the first product for children, launched in 1972. Since 2006, Stokke has focused exclusively on designing premium children´s furniture and equipment within the highchair, stroller, baby carrier, home textiles and nursery segments.

What are the most popular and/or newest products from Stokke?

Stokke is best known for their iconic Tripp Trapp chair, Xplory stroller and Sleepi crib. This October, Stokke is celebrating a momentous milestone as the brand will mark 10 million Tripp Trapp chairs sold.

What sets Stokke apart from other stroller, car seat and high chair companies?

Stokke’s values remain deeply rooted in their Scandinavian heritage and commitment to craftsmanship and quality. Stokke revolutionized the stroller category with the launch of the Stokke Xplory – introducing the concept of higher, parent-facing seating to the industry. The first stroller of its kind, Stokke Xplory was a true game changer. The unique height adjustability is designed to bring your baby close. Today, it is Stokke’s signature stroller.

The ingenious Tripp Trapp chair created by Norwegian designer Peter Opsvik did something completely new; it gave children an ergonomic seat of their own, one that would grow with them. This made it possible for children to comfortably join their family at the table for connection and bonding. Its timeless design remains as relevant and innovative today as it was over forty years ago.

What can parents expect to see from Stokke at the LA Baby Show?

Stokke will have their stroller range on display in addition to the Tripp Trapp chair and MyCarriers.
